Corten Steel Coil:
Corten steel supplied in high-strength and corrosion resistant coils, commonly identified as either ASTM A588 or A606 Type 4 coil. These Corten steel coils are renowned for their robustness against corrosion and are offered in a diverse range of thicknesses, widths, and lengths. Should the need arise, we possess the capability to split or slit the coils to your specifications.
ASTM A588 encompasses a category of high-strength low-alloy structural steel encompassing shapes, plates, and bars designed for welded, riveted, or bolted construction. Its primary application lies in welded bridges and buildings, where the emphasis is on weight reduction or enhanced durability.
In most environmental conditions, the atmospheric corrosion resistance of this steel significantly surpasses that of carbon structural steels, whether or not they contain copper additives.
When adequately exposed to the elements, this steel proves itself suitable for various applications, maintaining its integrity in a bare, unpainted state.
A606 Type 4, a distinctive high-strength low alloy steel variant, is renowned for its naturally rusted appearance. Its popularity stems from its adaptability for crafting metal panels, complete with an authentic rusted aesthetic.
It’s important to note that Corten coils do not arrive pre-rusted. Instead, weathering steel, over time, will naturally develop its characteristic rust when subjected to outdoor conditions.
